These computers may look fast, but they're really not. I sold one of them for 50$ and the red one i gave away (I couldn't sell it).

Computers, Technology, and Junk
Sorry guys but i felt like we needed a technology thread. For example. I want all of you to post the rigs/machines/computers that we are using to play LFS. I'll post mine when it's finished, but for now, i want to show off some of the others i have built. Here ya go. These computers used to look exactly alike. Not anymore!!!

Re: Computers, Technology, and Junk
Hi again! Ok my pc is ready to be shown off, this is what rig i use to play LFS. As you can see i have a window to look out side, so i can remind myself i have a life and a worn out steering wheel on the left.
Specs:
Operating System's are 64Bit 10.04 Ubuntu, Mac OSX Snow Leopard, and Windows 7 of course.
2gb RAM,
2.8 Gz Dual-core Pentuim (Wolfdale)
2 year old Nvidia Geforce 7950 GT mb graphics card (512)
2.5 Terabytes of space.
Intel DG43NB Motherboard.
It's more of a server really, but works just fine for LFS!. Too bad my wheel just broke down today but now i have excuse to buy a new one now! yay! now i just need to save up.
PS here's a close up of my pc. cost me a total of 500$ to build up till now, (i'm so cheap) All the custom work was done by me (i just cut and paste a piece of plastic on it

Re: Computers, Technology, and Junk
lol, its a good and cheap PC zerin, i wonder what would you say if you see what we have to spend to have a Pc like that haha
I recently had to change my asrock motherboard cause it didnt let me do anything, the goddamn board restarted everytime i wanted to enter windos xp, also when i wanted to reinstall it... i solved it changing the motherboard.
I found some capacitors with their cover a little up, maybe its that.... i have to weld a new ones... that board got me crazy a hole week... ¬¬ and its weird cause last week i catched up 2 PC's from my friend with the same problem... but fortunately it was only viruses problems...

Re: Computers, Technology, and Junk
ohh, im also doing my owns pedals for my guitar last weekend i assembled all the parts, if it works i will be uploading some pictures its a really nice idea DIY, this pedal im making... it cost around 100 dolars in music shop... it cost me around 30 Pesos (or 10 dolars) so its really cheap, and if you deal a little bit with electronics its a really cool idea i hope it works ahah

Re: Computers, Technology, and Junk
Is it going to be a wah-wah pedal? or a distortion pedal? So cool you know about electronics, I hope it works too, then you can rock out!
PS. my wheel just didn't want to turn to the left anymore, not much of a problem on blackwood, but i didn't want to fix it, it needed the elastic bands replaced becuase one of them snapped, and i didn't want to waste my time fixing a 5$ wheel. i'm going to save up for a Logitech wheel with shifter and clutch pedal. so i'll be on my jostick for now. i had to dig it out.

Re: Computers, Technology, and Junk
hehe noo... i know a little about electronics... just the basics... i found it interesting last year and i like it a lot. This is my second project, the first one i got it undone... haha problems to find parts... :S
This is a Amz Mosfet booster, its an easy circuit, if it works i will try to go a step further, till now i have to wiring it to try it
about the wheel... maybe you were too violent with it haha just kidding. keep going with the joystick, Cup races are coming!!

Re: Computers, Technology, and Junk
man i know how you feel sometimes. i used to have one for gaming that was so unstable, it would freeze on me all the time. Until i built me another. Well, if you ever need help or advice on computer tech, I'm always glad to help!
So what is the problem exactly?, sometimes you just need a new video card, they usually fail on us gamers too often. or maybe a complete windows re-installation, you can sometimes do these things yourself you know, easy. Just don't forget to backup important info before you try anything!
ps: nice gif's i like the star wars one, woop! woop! i will steal it now. thank you. ohh darn i just found out these are added.

Re: Computers, Technology, and Junk
(wolf whistle!) looks nice! Definetally a gamer's case, Power-supply on the bottom, big fans, plenty of ventilation, nice video card (looks huge from here) and the good looks. That's one nice pc. Is that a Battery backup in the background, and a motherboard box? did you replace the motherboard? What windows did you put? lol i geek out more when i see pc's, than when i see girls.
Still, nice machine, i see you called him, "he", That's the bond between man and machine right there
Ps. specs would be nice.

Re: Computers, Technology, and Junk
are you jealous mirio? hahha xp is great man, the best operating system out there. 50% of the world still uses it and when it is going to be unsupported, it will be more than 14 years old! imagine, an OS that lasted 14 years . Still, it's not the fastest or most stable. i agree, for LFS and other games, Windows 7 makes it run the best. and that machine is just begging for win7. is it 64bit xyx? please at least tell me you are using 64bit. or i will be angry. and then I will shove Linux down your throat.

Re: Computers, Technology, and Junk
ohh i'm so sorry xyx for your monitor, may he rest in peace. Have you tried opening it up? it might just need to have some capacitors replaced or something like that. i know google might help. But you know, sometimes the old monitors have good color quality too, anways, hope to race you soon!
